Data privacy

Your files never leave your device

Court documents contain sensitive information, so Docket Prime is built so that we couldn't see your files even if we wanted to.

How it works

  • This website is a set of static pages and scripts. There is no upload endpoint and no server that processes files.
  • When you choose a PDF, your browser reads it from your disk into memory. All checks and fixes run in a background worker inside the same browser tab.
  • Fixed files are created in your browser's memory and saved straight to your device when you click Download.
  • When you close the tab, everything is gone. We don't store your files, file names or results.

Adding searchable text (OCR)

When you ask us to make scanned pages searchable, your browser downloads the text recognition engine (about 7 MB) from this website, not from a third party. The recognition then runs on your device like everything else. Page images are created in memory and thrown away as soon as their text is read.

What the checker keeps on your device

  • Your light or dark theme setting, in your browser's local storage. We don't remember which court you chose.
  • If you've used OCR, the English language data for the text recognition engine is cached so it doesn't download again. It contains no information about your files.

You can clear these by clearing this site's data in your browser.

We use Google Analytics, which sets cookies, to count page visits. It never receives your files, file names or check results. How Google uses this data.

Verify it yourself

Load the page, then turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data. The checker keeps working, because it never needed the network. (OCR needs the connection once, to download its engine.) You can also open your browser's developer tools (Network tab) to confirm no file data is sent anywhere.
